About Me

I live for originality and people with something to say. If you have an opinion then we will get on just fine. I appreciate everything I have in life and I've learnt a lot. I'm a happy go lucky, quirky girly and for some reason I like being called Case :] <3

Survival of the fittest

We must fight to be heard, fight to be recognised and fight for our opportunities...
But what happens when you start to lose the will to fight?

I have reached a point where I no longer care. Social Media is at a huge level nowadays and it can't be escaped. Everywhere you look there is a Twitter symbol or a Facebook page and this is where I quit.
Facebook. It used to be great until they started changing everything. Did they never hear of that phrase of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it?'
I will check Facebook probably once a day, purely to delete application requests for me to play a game or join some group...I am genuinely not interested. I am a naturally nosey person and just want to look at other people's lives but maybe this is a dangerous past time?

We are a click away from seeing what other people are doing; but are they really doing all that? It's as though there is some sort of competition on Facebook to have the most photos or check in everywhere, even have the most friends. Seriously? It can be quite disheartening to watch how everyone else seems to be doing something, while you stumble along barely adding anything to your profile. I don't feel the need to 'check in' anywhere. Surely the only people who need to know are those that you're with? Why don't you just tell people who are actually interested? My phone is constantly alerting me of where people are once they've added it on to Facebook and quite frankly, if I knew how to stop it I would...my lack of technology skills comes in to play here...

It is as though we are conditioned to compete with one another to have the most interesting lives and to be constantly busy. It's an immense pressure considering how little money everyone has nowadays or how people have to work so much just to make ends meet. I always look at people and think 'wow they seem to be so much happier than me' when it actual fact this probably isn't true. I always felt like I was missing out because I wasn't as 'popular' as other people or I couldn't afford to go to all these places. Well, actually, I'm not that fussed. I may not have lots of friends or money to go on constant holidays or days out; but I have a more reasons to live than care what Facebook thinks of me.

People may upload a horrific amount of photos or feel the need to tell everyone how exciting their life is, but I don't buy it! Their lives can't be that busy and exciting when they've got all this free time to update their Facebook page...
